Business Awards PostponedThe 2009 SuperPages Bass Coast Business Awards, scheduled for 26 October 2009, have been postponed. The Awards will now be held in April/May 2010. By Bass Coast Shire Council - 16th October 2009 - Back to News Bass Coast Shire Council’s Economic Development Manager, Peter Francis, said the level of nominations for the Awards prompted the decision.
"This year, we were calling for nominations in twelve different categories, but unfortunately some categories had no nominations by the closing date," explained Mr Francis.
"This meant Council was unable to meet its obligations to the event sponsor.
"As a result, we decided to postpone the event until April/May next year, which will align it with the Gippsland Business Awards that are held in August.
"By aligning with these awards, the Bass Coast businesses that take part will receive further exposure and have greater media opportunities."
Details of the rescheduled Business Awards will be available in the local media and on Council’s website in early 2010.
