Consultation On Coronet Bay UnderwayOptions for a boat ramp at Coronet Bay have been outlined in a Feasibility Study commissioned by Bass Coast Shire Council. By Bass Coast Shire Council - 14th July 2009 - Back to News The Feasibility Study is on public exhibition from 14 July 2009 and Council is looking for community input on the study.
Council’s Environment Manager, Paul Smith, said the Study has proposed three broad options for the community to consider.
"The Coronet Boat Ramp Feasibility Study looked at options for providing recreation boating facilities, including a public boat ramp at Coronet Bay," outlined Mr Smith.
"In brief, these options include providing alternative access to the existing ramp, creating a temporary new boat ramp or undertaking a major upgrade of the existing ramp.
"The study further recommends that while these three options are being examined, Council continues to mediate with Coastal Estates, who own the site of the current ramp," continued Mr Smith.
"Now that we have a complete Feasibility Study with the three options we are taking this information to the community to ensure the best outcome is achieved."
Council has developed a response questionnaire to help the community provide feedback on the options. The questionnaire and a summary sheet on the Study will be sent out to interested parties and nearby landowners.
"The questionnaire is an excellent way for us to understand and receive feedback from the community on specific decisions that need to be made about the Coronet Bay Boat Ramp," explained Mr Smith.
The Feasibility Study will be on exhibition from 14 July 2009 until 11 August 2009. A copy of the Study, summary sheet and response questionnaire will be on display at the Grantville Transaction Centre or can be downloaded at www.bassocoast.vic.gov.au
