Triathlon Series Kicks Off SoonTriathletes are again gearing up for the Riviera Triathlon Club’s East Gippsland Super Summer Series. By Riviera Triathlon Club - 18th November 2004 - Back to News The first race in the series will be held on Sunday 28 November on the Esplanade at Paynesville. This is a great venue for spectators as well who get to see a lot of action in the water and on land too.
The Y Fun Tri kicks off at 8.00 a.m. with a 200 metre swim, a 7 km bike ride and a 2.5km run. This is great for people starting out in triathlons or those who feel a little daunted by the longer distance event.
The Main race follows at 9.30. Competitors cover a distance of 500 metres in the swim, 21km on the bike and finish up with the run leg of 5 kms.
Athletes come from all over Victoria and Southeast NSW for the East Gippsland Super Summer Series. They all say how good the courses are, and how friendly the welcome is.
After Paynesville there are 7 more races in the series at Lake Glenmaggie, Lakes Entrance, Marlo, Bairnsdale, Sale RAAF Base, Mallacoota and the final race is on March 19 at Eagle Point.
