Once in a while we come across a business we have come to know and love, an organisation that has had the courage to take the step to expand online as well as in store. One such business is Tania’s Deli.
Tania’s Deli is a specialist in Gippsland produce, and has been providing quality foods to the public for over ten years. Located in Morwell, the Deli is central to the region making gourmet food just a moment away.
I discussed the Tania’s Deli website and e-commerce feature in a recent interview with Richard Reid, co-owner of the business. The website has become a central part of everyday business life for Richard, who uses the website to promote the Deli, to give information to customers and for on-line ordering.
Indeed, the e-commerce feature is arguably the greatest part the website. Customers can log on at any time of day or night and order Deli delights from the extensive on-line menu. The transaction is safe and secure, and by using a local business, your money stays right here in the Latrobe Valley.
Around 10% of Tania’s Deli’s current clientele are using the e-commerce section of the site. “It saves time and gives many options” comments Richard. “(I’d like to) put a computer in the shop (to) educate customers more about our online store.”
The website itself is very functional and quite attractive. “It is well designed and it loads quickly” says Richard. How do regular people find out about the website? “We tell them. Business cards, advertising, word of mouth…” And has it been successful? “A few new customers have been made,” he comments.
