Academy Soccer Athletes Make Victorian TeamFive athletes from the Edison Mission Energy Gippsland Academy of Sport selected for the Under 15 Victorian Country Squad By Danny Anderson - 9th September 2002 - Back to News Five athletes from the Edison Mission Energy Gippsland Academy of Sport Soccer Program have recently been selected for the Under 15 Victorian Country Squad, to play at the National Championships in Sydney on the week of September 28th to October 5th.
The athletes are Nickolas Linhart (who has also been selected as the captain of the squad), Michael Lewry, Dominic Murphy, Jason Hill and Michael Peterson.
These athletes are from across the Gippsland region and show that the standards of junior soccer in the region are equal if not better than that of other Victorian regional areas.
According to Gippsland Academy of Sport Soccer Program Head Coach, Mark Cassar "This is a fantastic achievement for the local athletes".
