Council’s Customer Service Week Celebrated With WinnersWinners of raffles and competitions in council’s celebration of International Customer Service Week have been presented with their prizes. By Latrobe City - 3rd November 2008 - Back to News The theme for this year's Customer Service Week was 'healthy living' with the winning prizes reflective of the theme. Mr Kevin King of Traralgon, Mr Lyell Brewer of Morwell, and Mr R Wilkinson of Moe were presented with a basket full of goodies, including low energy light globes, a watering can, pot plant and free passes for an adult swim, gym visit and fitness class.
A colouring competition for children resulted in eight winners from across the municipality. The winners were Bryson Savage, Aidan Thompson, Sophie Waller, Kate Hagley, Janhavi Prabhu, Kiara Coterrell, Macey McCartney and Tamika Graham. Many entries were received and will be displayed at council’s service centres from 29 October until 7 November 2008. Winners were presented with a Kmart/Myers voucher.
Latrobe City’s chief executive officer, Paul Buckley, said International Customer Service Week is devoted to recognising the importance of customer service and honouring the people at the frontline of providing service.
"Residents who visited one of our services centres during the week were asked to complete a customer survey while being offered free entry into a raffle for a prize.
"While customer feedback collected during Customer Service Week was encouragingly positive, council is currently aware of an ongoing problem with the 1300 telephone number used by residents to contact council.
"Some calls to council on the 1300 number have been reported as having dropped out, while some customers also report having joined a call queue, when in fact no connection has been made.
"We are working closely with Telstra to remedy the situation and thank callers for their patience in the meantime," Mr Buckley said.
"I’d like to thank those customers who participated in the customer survey. Their feedback was greatly appreciated and will help Latrobe City plan for the future to ensure we meet the needs of our community. I would also like to thank the children who entered the colouring competition and contributed to the success of the week.
"Council is always happy to receive community feedback and this can be done via email, post or by phoning 1300 367 700," Mr Buckley added.
