Wine Industry Opportunities

The Department Of Primary Industries Has Responded To Issues Currently Facing The Wine Industry By Arranging A Series Of Workshops To Be Held Across The State During July.

The full day workshops, titled "Victorian Wine Industry; Moving Forward" aim to assist growers to better understand the current and future industry situation and to identify effective business and personal management strategies that fit with the opportunities available to industry.

The workshops will feature sessions on the wine industries current situation and industry outlook, as well as strategies for managing vineyards and wineries during current times.

There will also be sessions on assessing and addressing business viability, where to turn for assistance, planning for the future opportunities and separating your lifestyle from your business.

Guest speakers to feature at the Ballarat and Knoxfield workshops include Lawrie Stanford and Mike Stephens, while Stuart McGrath-Kerr and Nigel McGuckian will be appearing at the Bendigo and Wangaratta workshops. John Whiting from DPI will also be present.

Workshops will run from 9.30 am until 3.30pm and will be held in the following locations:

Bendigo - 7th July, Department of Primary Industries, Cnr Midland Hwy & Taylor St, Epsom,

Wangaratta - 8th July, Gateway Hotel, 29-37 Ryley Street, Wangaratta,

Ballarat - 18th July, University of Ballarat, Mt Helen Campus, Ballarat,

Knoxfield - 19th July, Department of Primary Industries, 621 Burwood Hwy, Knoxfield.
