Parklands Preschool On The Road To RejuvenationThe children, staff and families at Parklands Preschool in Morwell are taking steps towards a fresh new look for the facility with a series of improvements to the classroom and outdoor play area, By Latrobe City - 29th August 2014 - Back to News thanks to fundraising and grants allocations.
The preschool staff and children have worked with Bunnings Morwell Activities Organiser, Barb Harvey and received generous support from Carol Garred of Valley Youth Op Shop.
On Wednesday 20 August, the preschool received a plaque for a Coles Landcare Grant that has greatly assisted with the project. The grants support community groups to establish a range of different types of gardens.
Named after a long-term member of the Parklands staff, 'Lucy's exploration garden' will provide students with an amazing sensory experience, incorporating rocks, flowers, herbs and pebbles. Staff, students and families will all be involved in establishing the garden with the children contributing to the design, along with having fun getting dirty during the works.
The preschool will hold another working bee before the end of term 3 and it is hoped that the outdoor play area will be ready for the start of term 4.
