The meeting will be held 10am on Friday 31 August at the Heyfield Hub.

Cr Beth Ripper, Mayor of Wellington Shire Council said Council was happy with the breadth of information that will be available at the meeting.

"The speakers will bring a diverse range of expertise and skills. They will be able to provide comprehensive information to help develop strategies for drought mitigation in the catchment.

"We are also looking for community ideas and comment on the situation, particularly in the area upstream of Lake Glenmaggie," said Cr Ripper.

"While Council has no formal role in drought mitigation planning we are happy to facilitate an opportunity for the community to engage in discussion with expert speakers. Council can help pass community opinions and plans to the appropriate agencies" said Cr Ripper.
