By Bass Coast - 31st July 2013 - Back to News

Bass Coast Shire Council is running the Roadshows, which is just one of the programs that make up the Living Healthy Bass Coast Project, with this season’s theme being ‘Winter Warmers’.

The events will be held in Ventnor, Dalyston, Surf Beach and Cape Paterson and there are plenty of activities for everyone to take part in.

Community members can enjoy healthy cooking demonstrations, recipe cards, tastings, and giveaways, and there will be opportunities to sign up to other programs and find information about existing physical activity programs in Bass Coast.

Bass Coast Community Health will also be running free health checks at the Roadshows.

Acting Community and Economic Development Director, Antoinette Mitchell encouraged everyone to attend one of the four events

"The Roadshows are a travelling community kitchen encouraging community members to adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle," Ms Mitchell said.

"They’re guaranteed to be a lot of fun, with plenty of great ideas you can take home and try yourself."

The Roadshows will be held from 11.00am to 1.00pm on:

  • Wednesday, 7 August, Ventnor General Store
  • Tuesday, 20 August, Dalyston General Store
  • Wednesday, 28 August, Surf Beach General Store
  • Tuesday, 3 September, Cape Paterson Sea Salt Cafe
