Call For Fencing VolunteersVolunteers are wanted to assist with fencing in the Jeeralang and Hazelwood area, the Nationals Member for Morwell Russell Northe said today. By Russell Northe - 5th May 2009 - Back to News Starting Monday 4 May, volunteers will be able to meet at the Jeeralang North Hall at 8.30am sharp, to be briefed and dispatched," Mr Northe said.
The program will run 7 days a week and experience is not necessary.
The VFF’s Latrobe fencing coordinator, Benn Thexton, said the Traralgon South program was progressing well, with over 60km of fencing now fully reconstructed and much more cleared.
"Benn and his volunteer crews are doing an outstanding job but there is still much to do," Mr Northe said.
"The Jeeralang-Hazelwood program will run in addition to the Traralgon South program and extra volunteers will help to lighten the load."
Mr Northe said all registered volunteers would be covered by insurance.
To volunteer or donate materials please call 1300 367 700. Those seeking assistance to restore fire-damaged fencing can register their needs by calling 1800 017 777.
A BBQ for volunteers and landholders is also held each Saturday night at the Traralgon South Hall from 6pm.
