World Vision And TanzaniaMany people would be aware of the current World Vision’s campaign to get 10,000 sponsors for children in need from around the world. By Bass Coast Shire Council - 17th August 2006 - Back to News Cr Kelly Simrajh is taking particular interest in childen from Tanzania included in the World Vision listing.
Tanzania was Bass Coast’s adopted team for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games and there are around 40 Tanzanian children registered with World Vision, who are looking for sponsorship.
"It would be a wonderful gesture if people or organisations from Bass Coast could sponsor a child from Tanzania," said Cr Simrajh.
"After the Commonwealth Games, this area has a special link with Tanzania." Cr Simrajh said that at present, Tanzania is not included in the drop down menu of countries listed under World Vision Australia’s sponsorship site (www.worldvision.com.au). Any person or organisation interested in sponsoring a child from Tanzania would need to ring World Vision on 13 32 40 to organise this.
