Laugh out loud with hapless Simon at Tyers HallInternationally renowned playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer’s hilarious screwball comedy Simon’s Final Sound is coming to the Tyers Hall on Tuesday 6 September at 7.30pm. By Portal Admin - 27th August 2016 - Back to News Internationally renowned playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer’s hilarious screwball comedy Simon’s Final Sound by award-winning Tasmanian theatre company Blue Cow Theatre, hits the road for a major national tour and is coming to the Tyers Hall on Tuesday 6 September at 7.30pm.
Latrobe City Council’s performing arts and venues coordinator, Kathleen Roberts, said that the show was a laugh-out- loud comedy bound to put a smile on everyone’s face.
"Set on the South Seas, the play follows the madcap adventures of the hapless Simon, who’s terminally unlucky and going deaf. With three unlikely companions, he sets out on one final epic voyage full of hula skirts, high-jinx and belly laughs.
Taking up the roles of those four larger-than- life characters are a talented cast including Andrew Casey, Guy Hooper, Mel King and John Xintavelonis, seen in productions ranging from The Lion King to Circus Oz.
"Commissioned by Blue Cow Theatre to write the play especially for these four gifted performers, Kruckemeyer dreamed up this funny and moving story about a man who is about to lose the little he has, but discovers so much more on the journey.
"We are pleased to be able to present this amusing Aussie slice of life at the Tyers Hall. Come along and share the laughs and the inspiration," Ms Roberts said.
Simon’s Final Sound will be performed at the Tyers Hall on Tuesday 6 September at 7.30pm. Book tickets through the box office on 5176 3333 or online www.latrobe.vic.gov.au/lpawhatson
