Fellowships "chance of lifetime" says mp

The Churchill Trust is offering 100 people the chance of a lifetime to travel, live and study abroad says The Nationals Member for Gippsland Province, Peter Hall.

The Churchill Fellowships have an average value of $25,000, which includes return airfare and an overseas living allowance.

"No formal qualifications are required and any topic of study or research will be considered on its merits," explained Mr Hall.

"The Fellowships are awarded to ordinary Australians who have a passion for knowledge, motivation to study overseas and a willingness to share their findings with the community.

"The studies must offer a strong community benefit either at local, state or national level.

Mr Hall said that he was particularly pleased that the 2006 round is offering eight special Fellowships that will address the concerns of younger people.

He said he hoped that young people in the Gippsland electorate with a strong interest in issues that affected them, and a desire to learn more, would nominate for a Fellowship.

Participants must be Australian citizens over the age of 18.

Applications open on 1 November 2005 and close on 28 February, 2006.
