Uniform Grants Now Available

Grants of up to $1000 are now available to sporting clubs across the Latrobe Valley for the purchase of uniforms, the Nationals Member for Morwell Russell Northe said today.

With a funding pool of $1.65 million, Mr Northe said the Our Club, Our Future program can assist clubs with the purchase of items such as jumpers, socks, skirts, leotards, bathers, footy boots, runners, hats and tracksuits.

"Our local sports clubs are an intrinsic part of life in the Latrobe Valley," Mr Northe said.

"New uniforms may be just what some clubs need to bolster their spirits after a tough year.

"The funding may also help to bridge the gap for those from disadvantaged backgrounds who find uniform costs prohibitive."

Applications for the first round of the 2009-10 Our Club Our future Sporting Uniform Grants Program must be received by Friday 18 September 2009. A second round is scheduled to open in January 2010.

Guidelines and an online application form are available via www.grants.dpcd.vic.gov.au by following the grants finder link.

Printed application forms are also available from Mr Northe’s office at 66 George St Morwell.
