Draft: Dargo High Plains Road

The High Plains Road, north of the Upper Dargo Road will remain closed for up to three weeks due to damage caused by recent fires.

By Wellington Shire Council - 16th January 2007 - Back to News

"There have been a number of subsidences and they have caused significant damage to the road" said Ralf Kastan, Director Assets and Operations for Wellington Shire Council.

"We are working very hard to open the roads as soon as possible.

However we must ensure roads are made safe before we reopen them" said Mr Kastan.

Trees along the Dargo High Plains Road will also be inspected to check they are safe and identify any trees that may need to be removed.

"A local contractor has been engaged and will start work straight away on the road works and the removal of dangerous trees" said Mr Kastan.
