Karen Knowles returns to delight local audiencesKaren Knowles, the well known and successful Australian singing star, will be delighting audiences once again with her forthcoming live stage performance at the By Latrobe City Shire Council - 12th April 2007 - Back to News at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre at 11am on Wednesday 18 April 2007.
Ms Knowles, an award winning and very much loved performer, has staged her popular live shows many times at the Performing Arts Centre, and this upcoming performance promises to thrill audiences once more.
Latrobe City’s performing arts and venues coordinator, Kathleen Roberts, said that audiences will be very pleased to once again welcome Karen back to perform live on stage in Latrobe.
"Karen’s extensive and successful career as a performer, producer and director of her own entertainment company, now spans over twenty-five years, and her professionalism and experience is evident in every performance." Ms Roberts said.
Karen Knowles’ performance career began with the award winning television program Young Talent Time where she quickly achieved national recognition. Success was swift - Karen soon made history by becoming the first Australian schoolgirl to notch up a gold record, and from then her career grew with many award winning recordings and concert performances.
Apart from joining ‘The Seekers’ touring nationally and internationally in 1990, Karen has written and performed many musical compositions while also recording and producing. She spent a period in London writing new material and honing her talents.
In 2000 Karen recorded and released her popular album ‘By Request’ which features many of the most requested songs at her live performances.
As a performer and interviewee she has appeared consistently on all leading television programs on all national television networks, acted as a presenter, a regular judge on Network Ten’s popular series New Faces, and still maintained her solo career.
"We are so pleased that Karen will be coming to the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre again. She is a popular and delightful entertainer," Ms Roberts concluded.
Karen Knowles will perform at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday 18 April at 11am. Complimentary tea and coffee will be served from 10.30am.
