Renewable Energy Options For Your Home

Renewable energy technology will be the focus for the upcoming Future Homes Program workshop, run in partnership by Bass Coast Shire Council and Bass Coast Landcare Network.

This program of workshops to be held across the Shire in 2014 is designed to inform and inspire you to implement sustainable actions at home. This can save you money and increase the resillience of your home against impacts of climate change.

The upcoming workshop – ‘The Latest in Renewable Energy Technology for Your Home’ – will be held on Saturday, 9 August from 10.00am until 3.00pm.

Free to all Bass Coast residents, this day will be a tour designed to inform participants about the many different options for renewable energy systems suitable for homes.

Information on the homes we will be visiting will be available to those who register for this workshop.

From solar to wind to geothermal, this day will showcase families and homes that have working systems and will be able to explain the benefits these have had for them.

The remaining workshops in this program will include expert speakers, products, techniques and tours of sustainable sites to show real world examples of exceptional homes, gardens, farms and communities. Information provided will help you to save money by using energy and water efficiently, reduce waste and live sustainably.

Remaining workshops in the series include:

  • Sunday, 14 September – Future Homes Tour For Sustainable Homes Day
  • Wednesday, 24 September – Weathering It Together – Handling Climate Extremes
  • Wednesday, 22 October – Water Week – Work Out Your Ability To Capture, Redirect And Re-use Water At Your Home
  • Saturday, 15 November – Water Wise Homes And Gardens Tour
