Grantville Transaction Centre Open DayThe Technology Centre at the Grantville Transaction Centre is now open for business and the community is invited to attend a ‘come and try’ session on Wednesday, 24 May 2006. By Bass Coast Shire Council - 12th May 2006 - Back to News The session, from 10am to 12 noon, will provide a hands-on experience of the services available at the Technology Centre.
Bass Coast Shire Council staff will be available to assist people and show them how to use the computers and other facilities.
There will also be representatives from the Department of Victorian Communities (DVC) at the session, to show people how to use the Government Service Point Network.
Regular services at the Technology Centre include broadband internet access and updated computer software including office applications. To access the computer facilities, community members simply need to make a booking with Council’s Grantville Customer Service Centre.
No booking is required to use the Government Service Point Network, which is essentially a one stop shop for Government services. It has free internet access to all government websites and free telephone access to the Information Call Centre.
The ‘come and try’ session on 24 May is free. For ongoing use of the Technology Centre, the cost is $1 per hour or part thereof, for one off use. There will also be the option for annual membership, which will provide unlimited computer use.
The Grantville Transaction Centre is open from 8.30am – 1.00pm and from 1.30pm – 4.30pm. To make a computer booking in the Technology Centre, to discuss membership, or for all other enquires, please call the Grantville Transaction Centre on 5671 2211 or 5951 3311.
