The Government must create real jobs for the workers that will be displaced in March, sooner rather than later.

Mr Northe said Daniel Andrews must adopt initiatives as proposed by unions, businesses and our community.

"The unemployment rate is already sky high, we need to help those already unemployed look for work and ensure we continue to attract business and community investments to our region," Mr Northe said.

"The Labor Government must have a real plan for the people of the Latrobe Valley – what has been put on the table so far is simply unacceptable."

Mr Northe said Daniel Andrews has his wish to close Hazelwood but he doesn’t have a plan that will secure the future for people who live and work in the Valley.

"This closure will incur massive job losses in the Latrobe Valley and wider Gippsland region, major price hikes in electricity to Victorian families and business and will damage the security of our electricity supply," Mr Northe said.

"This is bad for jobs, bad for households and bad for business.

"Daniel Andrews must provide real jobs for people in the Latrobe Valley."
