By Wellington Shire Council - 5th September 2005 - Back to News

Wellington Shire Council is compiling a Youth Mailing List so that young people in the municipality can be kept up to date with what’s on in local towns.

The Shire’s Youth Co-ordinator David Roberts said: "The mailing list is for young people aged between 12 and 25 who live, work or have a strong connection to the Wellington Shire.

"We are asking young people to send their name, age, town and the name of their favourite band to SMS 0408 109 586 or email to youth@wellington.vic.gov.au . Alternatively, young people can be added to the list at their local library.

"Everyone who contacts us will be included on the list and informed of future youth events in the Shire.

"They will also go into a draw to win a TV and DVD Player - the winner will be drawn during the Battle of the Bands in Sale on September 16."

David said the band to receive the most votes during the campaign would be considered for a potential FreeZa event in the future.
