10,000th Customer Welcomed AboardA Wellington Shire tourism business will reach a major milestone when the 10,000th passenger is welcomed aboard the tourist boat 'Rubeena'. By Portal Admin - 8th March 2017 - Back to News Port of Sale Heritage Cruises began sailing in late 2013, running voyages twice a day from the Port of Sale to the Swing Bridge on the fully restored 1912 electric boat. The project was an initiative of owner and captain, Mr Alan Lewis. "The support shown by the local community and the Wellington Shire has been remarkable" said Mr Lewis. "I have had many locals take the trip and comment on how much they have learned about their own backyard during the journey".
Port of Sale Heritage Cruises continue to be popular with locals, interstate and international visitors alike, with all keen to enjoy our beautiful waterways and learn more about the history and culture of the region while experiencing this unique cruise.
Mr Lewis says that the 10,000th visitor is expected aboard in the next couple of weeks with a number of group booking already secured. Along with fanfare, Mr Lewis says the lucky passenger will be rewarded with a free trip and a $200 dinner voucher from ONeills restaurant in Sale, to honour the milestone.
