Finding Character In Inverloch

Expressions of interest invited from people keen to be part of a committee that will oversee the conduct of a survey of Inverloch’s neighbourhood character.

Bass Coast Shire Council has invited expressions of interest from people keen to be part of a committee that will oversee the conduct of a survey of Inverloch’s neighbourhood character.

The Inverloch Neighbourhood Character Advisory Committee will include members who represent a wide range of local groups and local interests in Inverloch. The committee will provide plenty of input and ideas about matters relevant to the study such as analysing data, formulating policy, consulting with the public and, of course, the final policy and draft controls.

The Inverloch Character Study will be used by Council to develop controls that reinforce the preferred neighbourhood character of Inverloch.

“The final controls and policy that result from the study will aim to make sure Inverloch’s character is protected and improved,” said Cr. Miranda Sage, Mayor of Bass Coast Shire Council. “Participation in the study by community members is essential for it to be a success and we value people’s input.”

The duration of the project and the length of commitment from committee members is likely to be from July 2001 to February 2002. It would be desirable, but not essential, if members of the Committee also had a range of skills in areas such as urban design, environmental design and community consultation.
