Electorate survey launched

"A number of local residents will soon be asked for their views on important issues as part of an electorate-wide survey

By Craig Ingram - 14th August 2003 - Back to News

"Independent Member for Gippsland East, Craig Ingram, said today that constituents had been chosen at random.

"The information will be used to identify key areas of community concern on a wide range of subjects," Mr Ingram said.

"These include forest and park management, GMOs, community safety, health and the privatisation of Telstra.

"People are also being asked to name one service or facility that their town or area is lacking.

"While these questionnaires are being sent randomly via direct mail, anyone who wishes to take part is more than welcome to contact my electorate office and arrange for one to be sent to them.

"I believe it is essential that Members of Parliament understand the views of their constituents on important local issues.

"This survey will aide me in providing the best representation for Gippsland East," Mr Ingram concluded.
