Wideband Networks Rolling out Wireless Broadband in Macalister Irrigation District Wideband Networks has been busy getting ready to roll out their new wireless broadband service for the Macalister Irrigation District. One of the first providers in Australia to qualify for the federal governments Higher Bandwidth Incentive Scheme (HiBIS), Wideband are now able to offer price-competitive high-speed Internet to customers in the MID. Log on to www.wide.net.au for more details. In conjunction with Heyfield Resource Centre, MAi is now offering Maffra residents low cost computer training. The courses are low-stress and aimed at beginners. The current course, "An introduction to Word processing" started on September 28th and will run on Tuesday mornings from 10 am to 12 noon in the centre on the corner of Queen and Pearson Streets Maffra. You can keep up to date with progress of the inquiry on the committee's website http://www.parliament.vic.gov.au/rrsdc. Positive feedback was received from a number of quarters regarding MAi's integrated approach to technology and also its achievements over the years.
