I am sure that they will agree that public safety should be of paramount importance. This particular matter relates to the concerning issue of missiles being thrown at passing cars and trucks as they drive along the Princes Highway and the overpass at Moe.

Melina Bath has been contacted by a number of truck drivers in my electorate who use that very busy thoroughfare along the M1, and what they are feeling, knowing and experiencing is that projectiles are actually being thrown at trucks. This is a criminal and dangerous activity. The pedestrian overpass has gaps in it, and these large missiles are able to be hurled down onto the road. We can all imagine that this is a busy space. Urgent safety upgradeThere is a 110-kilometre-an-hour speed limit. If you get a projectile on the top of your windscreen with a large transport, that is a recipe for significant disaster. As I said, Minister, this needs to be solved. It is not rocket science. It requires a small amount of money, a rehash of the barrier fencing. Let us all be kept safe on the roads. Minister, let us also look at CCTV monitoring being put there to catch these perpetrators, who are really putting lives in significant danger. Pictures from Melina Bath MP Facebook page.
