Still Time To Nominate For The 2003 Bass Coast Australia Day Awards

Many entries have already been received, but more are most welcome!

Nominations for the 2003 Bass Coast Australia Day Awards close on Friday 8 November. Many entries have already been received, but more are most welcome!

Presentations will be made in four categories - Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Sportsperson of the Year, and Community Event of the Year.

"There are so many people and organisations in Bass Coast Shire that deserve to be recognised for their outstanding contribution to the local community," said Cr John Gains, Mayor of Bass Coast Shire Council.

"We’re asking everyone to just stop for a moment and think about a person or people who have had a positive impact on the community and nominate them for an award," he said.

Previous nominees are encouraged to enter.

The awards will be announced at Australia Day celebrations on 26 January 2003.

Nomination forms are available at all Council Customer Service Centres, by calling 5671 2211 or 5951 3311 and on Council’s website at www.basscoast.vic.gov.au
