Encouraged to dress up as their favourite story book character – crocodiles, pirates, fairies, princesses and many other amazing characters were seen participating in the day’s activities at the centre. Although literature is a healthy part of the children’s day at the Moe Early Learning Centre, program staff felt it was important for the children to become interactive in the celebrations to encourage a better appreciation of books. Throughout the day, stories were read to the children both indoors and outdoors within the fairy garden in the large adventure playground. A special visit from a feline friend by the name of ‘Slinky Malinky’, from the ‘Hairy Maclary’ series of children’s stories, was also incorporated into the festivities during the morning. During the afternoon children were given the opportunity to make up their own stories, based on their thoughts, or the character which they were dressed up as for the day. A fun day was had by all. Moe Early Learning Centre is an accredited child care centre, with qualified experienced staff coordinating all three play rooms with a program based on children’s individual development. Bookings can be made by telephoning 5135 8410.Source: www.gippsland.com Published by: news@gippsland.com Related Articles
