Yallourn North Town Reserve To Receive Upgrade The Yallourn North Town Recreation Reserve will receive $20,000 for upgrades and developments if the Coalition is elected on November 27 announced Nationals Member for Morwell Russell Northe today. By Russell Northe - 22nd November 2010 - Back to News Mr Northe said the upgrade, which will occur through Latrobe City’s Northern Towns Outdoor Recreation Plan will encompass a wide range of changes to the facilities for the benefit of the Yallourn North residents.
Some of the changes will include:
• New public toilets and change facilities in the Hall
• Demolition of existing public toilets and change facilities
• Upgrade to the kitchen to include a canteen facility for user groups
• Upgrade to storage facilities
"These changes are fantastic, and will benefit a large number of Yallourn North residents.
"This $20,000 funding will go a long to ensuring that this project comes to fruition and the facilities are upgraded and are put to good use by community members, and those competing at the facilities.
"In conjunction with assistance from Latrobe City Council the upgraded precinct will assist in attracting increased numbers of participants to cricket, football, netball, tennis and other sporting and recreational pursuits."
Mr Northe said Yallourn North was a terrific small community with great character and that many of the town’s facilities require ongoing maintenance and upgrades to retain the town’s vibrancy.
"Our small towns need assistance to ensure they have adequate facilities and assets, and it is the Coalition that understands the importance of these assets to our regional communities."
