By daV Gippsland - 11th November 2004 - Back to News deaf access VICTORIA - Gippsland Region is a not for profit organisation that covers the 6 Government shires of Latrobe, Wellington, East Gippsland, Baw Baw, Bass Coast and South Gippsland.

HOW IT WORKS
Participants should allow approx 20 mins for their appointment.

No lectures, no "pushing" - just information on what you can get and do - this can be a takeaway pack if you're in a hurry!
It is important to note that both services providing these screenings are non - profit and do not favour or receive kick - backs / benefits from any other service for providing these days - so rest assured , we will not be "pushing" any particular brand or company on you!
SO WHY IS THIS BEING OFFERED?

Did you know that 1 out of 2 people over 60 yrs and 2 out of 3 people in a nursing home have a Significant hearing loss!
daV Gippsland is managed by the Strategic Alliance Council of Victoria - a group of premium services specifically for Deaf people (Victorian Deaf Society, Better Hearing Australia, Deaf Children Australia, Wimmera Hearing Society) and is funded by the Victorian State Government to help raise the awarenss of hearing loss and to help address the increasing problem (just think about those walkmans / cd players / car stereos) of this hidden disability within our community.
Our aim is to build an INCLUSIVE community!
