Workshops At Inverloch

Local residents and visitors are invited to attend

Local residents and visitors are invited to attend either of two workshops about the draft Inverloch Design Framework. The workshops will be an opportunity to ask questions about the draft Design Framework and how it will be implemented in the future.

The workshops will be held on Thursday 20 February from 7pm-9pm and Saturday 22 February from noon-2pm. Both workshops will take place at the Inverloch Community Centre. People who wish to attend must RSVP to ensure adequate seating at the workshops. RSVP to Keitha Van’t hof on 5671 2225 by 19 and 21 February respectively.

The Inverloch Design Framework establishes a vision for the future of Inverloch and the outline for achieving that vision.

Sue Porter, Project Officer with Bass Coast Shire Council, said that the Framework looks at land use and the issues facing the future development of Inverloch.

"The draft framework outlines a series of future development directions and guidelines to achieve the vision and respond to the issues," said Sue. "However, it is currently only in draft form, so there is still plenty of scope for having your say about the recommendations currently outlined in the framework."

"Council is strongly encouraging people to have a look at the draft framework and provide us with feedback," said Sue. "Come along to the workshops and ask questions.

"This is your community, your town and your future so please have your say," said Sue.

More than 450 local people and visitors have already helped to shape the draft framework through workshops, surveys and questionnaires, and a community convention.

Submissions about the draft framework close on Friday 14 March. Every submission would be considered by the Project Steering Committee before finalising the final framework in early May 2003.

The draft Inverloch Design Framework is on display at Council’s Inverloch and Wonthaggi Customer Service Centres as well as Council’s website at www.basscoast.vic.gov.au. Large format copies of the plans and diagrams (not text) included in the draft Framework are on display in the window of the Inverloch Community Supermarket in Reilly Street, Inverloch.
