Newhaven jetty in Bass Coast Shire ready to be renewed
Bass Coast Shire Council is getting ready to complete a renewal of Newhaven Jetty, which has been damaged due to age and wear and tear from wave action.
The jetty will be closed throughout the duration of the works, however the boat ramp will remain open during the construction period. Work will start on Monday, 13 December and is expected to be completed prior to Christmas, subject to favourable weather, tides and contractor availability.

Project improve capacity during high tide
The project includes increasing the height of the lower deck to improve capacity during high tide for boat launching and retrieval. The existing upper deck will be replaced and improvements to the substructure will also be completed.
This $185,000 project is being funded through the Victorian Government's investment into improving recreational boating and is being completed as part of Council's 2021/22 Capital Works Program for Marine Structures.
Minimised disruptions during construction
The works will include the use of large plants and machinery and might be noisy at times. Council understands that these works may present an inconvenience to nearby residents and appreciates their patience during these times. Appropriate traffic/pedestrian measures will be in place throughout the duration of the works. The contractor will make every effort to minimise disruptions during construction.
