South Gippsland 2023 Jobs Expo at Memorial Hall in Leongatha major success
The South Gippsland Jobs Expo had 36 local employers with over 250 job vacancies. Skills and Jobs Victoria provided employment advice. Positive outcomes noted.
Last week's South Gippsland Jobs Expo was a success, attracting over 200 job seekers and generating many connections with prospective employers. The expo, which was held in Memorial Hall in Leongatha, was one of a number of job events to be held throughout the state.

Employment expo success
Hosted in conjunction with Workforce Australia the jobs expo was a chance for job seekers to meet with employers to speak about current job opportunities, apprenticeships and career options in South Gippsland and the surrounding region. Thirty-six local employers attended the expo, each with multiple job vacancies.
In addition, there were over 250 vacancies listed on a jobs board displayed on site. Service providers Skills and Jobs Victoria were available at the expo to provide job seekers with employment advice and tips on resume and interview presentation. Attendees to the expo were presented with a free coffee voucher that could be redeemed at local cafes in Leongatha.
Cr Nathan Hersey, Mayor South Gippsland Shire Council said, "The South Gippsland Jobs Expo was a terrific event that brought job seekers and employees together. Already we have heard some positive outcomes from the event, including job interviews being scheduled and people considering relocating to our region, based on job availability. I would like to thank all of the employers who participated at the expo, and the job seekers who attended."
