Sale Showgrounds Open and Water Tower Redevelopment Happening
New amenities and recreation building at the Sale Showgrounds is now open.
A new amenities and recreation building at the Sale Showgrounds is now open and ready to use for the annual Sale Agricultural Show thanks to a $500,000 grant from the Latrobe Valley Authority’s Community Facility Fund.
The redevelopment project included demolition of the old administration and amenities block and construction of a new 480 square metre building housing the administration centre with office space, storage, bathrooms and a recreation area with kitchen and laundry facilities.
The new amenities building will also service visitors at the on-site caravan park, which will help increase visitation and encourage people to stay in the region longer.
Works to restore and repurpose the Victoria Park Water Tower in Sale are also well underway, with Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today meeting with members of the Sale Historical Society who received a $55,000 grant towards the project from the Latrobe Valley Authority’s Community Facility Fund.
The Sale Agricultural Show will be held on 2-4 November, with free entry provided for farmers this year with assistance from the State Government’s drought funding and Wellington Shire Council.
For more information about the Community Facility Fund go to www.lva.vic.gov.au or phone 1800 136 762.
