The Darwin Awards are presented to commemorate the of those who who publicly humiliated themselves or, even better, improved our gene pool by removing themselves from it in really stupid ways.

There is the story of the man held hostage by portable toilet, and the story of fishing with no compass. Some are urban legends, others confirmed true by the Darwin team, but all are amusing in that “thankgod it didn’t happen to me” kind of way.
