The free concert will feature Pot-Pourri a highly acclaimed group who will perform ‘Songs of the Century’, a collection of the world’s most loved solos, duets ensembles and piano solos, brought to the stage in what has been described as a magical, emotional and uplifting performance of music and theatre.
Local multicultural song and dance groups will precede Pot-Pourri’s performance, presenting colourful performances of music, song and dance from all over the world.
Latrobe City Mayor, Councillor Tony Hanning, said the Folkloric Concert would be preceded by a multicultural celebration featuring multicultural food stalls from 5.30pm.
"This is part of the national celebration, and communities all over the country are preparing events and activities to acknowledge one-hundred years as a nation. Latrobe City welcomed the centenary year with a Twilight Family Picnic and Federation Fireworks display on New Year’s Eve, and the Folkloric Concert continues the celebrations," Cr Hanning said.
Admission to Saturday’s Folkloric Concert is free. Further information is available from Di Goulding at Latrobe City, telephone 1300 367 700.
