Latrobe Local News: Workshop on developing marketing plansFunding has been approved for the Latrobe City Economic Development Unit By Latrobe City Council - 9th February 2001 - Back to News Tell us your opinion See what others have said Funding has been approved for the Latrobe City Economic Development Unit to conduct a new marketing workshop for local businesses.
Taking Success in Your Stride is an accredited workshop where businesses, which become involved, qualify for a government subsidy grant from the State government Department of State and Regional Development.
The subsidy directly assists businesses to learn more about developing effective, efficient and relevant marketing plans that produce results within a defined budget.
Consultants, Boston Partners (Australia) Pty Ltd will facilitate the planned workshop later this month.
According to Boston Partners spokesperson, Ron Singal, a marketing plan gears all the planning undertaken by a business towards the main business function, that of satisfying customers, in order to produce additional sales and profits.
Mr Singal added that, as a major component of the workshop, there will be an emphasis on marketing tools to weigh up the alternatives available to businesses being pushed and pulled between suppliers and customers. Known as ‘Tip The Scales in Your Favour’, it gives workshop participants a range of options on how to identify customers and understand their specific needs.
Latrobe City Mayor, Councillor Tony Hanning said that workshops such as this offered tangible benefits to businesses.
“The workshop, plus a one-on-one consultancy to put into practice what has been learnt, is a relevant and practical way in which government funded programs can assist the growth of local businesses to further generate employment opportunities,” Cr Hanning said.
To fully explain the workshop in more detail, a no obligation information session is being conducted on Tuesday 13 February, commencing at 6pm at the Latrobe House Conference Room, corner of Ann Street and Hazelwood Road, Morwell.
For further information and registration for this session, please telephone the Latrobe City Economic Development Unit on 5173 1437.
