Volunteers Thanked26 volunteers attend a thank-you lunch at the Wonthaggi Hotel By Carol McCormack - 8th August 2002 - Back to News 26 volunteers from Bass Coast Shire Council’s Visitor Information Centres attended a thank-you lunch held at the Wonthaggi Hotel on Thursday 25 July.
Cr John Gains, Mayor of Bass Coast Shire Council, and Cr John Hulley, Councillor from Leadbeater Ward, attended the lunch to thank volunteers personally.
"The lunch was to say thank-you to volunteers and acknowledge their hard work," said Peter Francis, Manager of Council’s Visitor Information Services. "Volunteers provide high quality services to domestic and international visitors to Bass Coast."
"Volunteers contribute more than 6,000 hours of work to Bass Coast’s three Visitor Information Centres every year," said Peter.
More than 30 local people volunteer regularly at the Visitor Information Centres. People interested in volunteering at the Centres in Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Newhaven are encouraged to contact Peter Francis on 1300 366 422.
