Rural Australians for Refugees, Paynesville A group of people met today, Friday 21st June, 2002 at St. Peter's by the Lake, Anglican Church in Paynesville and decided to form a Paynesville Branch of Rural Australians for Refugees. By Julie Nelson - 21st June 2002 - Back to News In Paynesville today a community group met to learn more, to share that learning with others and to add our voice to the many voices seeking change in the treatment of asylum seekers in Australia.
We will be affiliated with an organisation called Rural Australians for Refugees, which was set up in Bowral NSW in October 2001.
We aim to encourage both thoughtful conversation and heartfelt action on the specific issues and concerns of the asylum seekers already in Australia.
We will keep you informed of all our activities and welcome your ideas and responses
