The students from both public and private schools have been studying the 2-year course, which included technical classes, on-line classes, excursions and field trips to Melbourne.
The students gained extra experience by working in McCartins Hotel restaurant every Tuesday at lunchtime over a 10-week period.
Linda Austin, Hospitality Coordinator at GippsTAFE in Leongatha said that there is currently a huge shortage of hospitality staff in the area, with some of the students gaining employment at McCartins Hotel and most of the students getting part time or casual work at other local venues.
