Gippsland Portal Local News: Soda PlayCreate mechanics online By Emma Kae - 2nd August 2001 - Back to News Tell us your opinion See what others have said Do you ever reminisce about pulling out the old Lego set and getting to work on a masterpiece? Well, log on to the net and mess around with the updated version on SodaPlay.com
SodaPlay enables the user to build and animate (better than the hand-held aeroplane, huh?) models on-screen. You can create by constructing a piece from masses and springs and animate to play with the built in simulator.
Change your view of the world with the simulation effects, like gravity. Turn it up high and models are squashed by their own weight, turn it down low and things float.
Play with friction. Apply lots of friction and your model will seem to be moving in treacle. Apply low amounts of friction and things will move fast. Be careful they do not spiral out of control!
There are endless possibilities for your creation, limited only by the imagination. Why not try your hand at being an inventor? It may be just what you are looking for. Click here to visit the website.
