Bairnsdale Selection Tennis UpdateRoberts wins Saturday Competition By John Glynn - 20th January 2002 - Back to News In Selection Tennis last Saturday, Andrew Roberts scored a huge 44 points to clearly win at the Bairnsdsale Tennis Club Complex.
Andrew won from Betty Banfield on 37 points in a welcome return to form, Graham Bromwich on 33 points, and both Roger Spencer and Dale Cadd on 30 points.
The field enjoyed warm but pleasant conditions on the compromising Classic Clay courts.
The second Winner of Winner Tables now comprises Andrew Roberts, Jeff Steedman and Dale Cadd.
Winners qualifying in the first Table are reminded to contact the competition convenor to confirm their availability for the first Table playoff. They were Dale Cadd (2), Mick Ellis, Judy Sabell, Mark Haley (2) and Andrew Roberts, and they will complete for a position in the Champion of Champions event later in the year.
Selection Tennis will be held next Saturday despite the break in District competition. Intending players are required to enter their name on the Booking Sheet inside the clubhouse before 12 noon on the Saturday of play.
Competitors should arrive no later than 2.45 pm for a 3 pm sharp start with an approximate 6 pm finish.
