The official opening of Morwell’s torch relay cauldron brought the Olympic dream closer to home.

On the 7th August the cauldron will be ignited for the first time, when the Sydney 2000 torch relay reaches Morwell.

Morwell’s ceremony has been one of almost 200 planned all over Australia. Among these towns and cities chosen were also Traralgon, and Moe, where the torch will rest for the night.

The cauldron is sure to leave a memory of regional Australia being big part of world–wide celebrations.
