Latrobe City’s performing arts and venues coordinator, Kathleen Roberts, said that the roadshow tour was always popular and that tickets will sell fast. "This year we have 4 acts that have a wealth of performance experience and a broad array of material. We have straight out Aussie comedy, Canadian off-beat humour, puppetry and rock music parody. The show is a must for all those needing a good laugh," Ms Roberts said. David Williams is a veteran of fringe and comedy festivals both here and overseas. David has played the Melbourne International Comedy Festival ever year since 1999 with a new show each year - a testament to his writing ability. He was chosen to perform in The MICF Montreal Show Case and the Australian MICF Road show which tours all around, In 2000 David performed his one man show at The Adelaide Fringe Festival achieving full houses and rave reviews. DeAnne Smith has been on the TV in many nations (NBC's Last Comic Standing, The Comedy Network, Good News Week), she's created a ton of shows in Montreal and she's written about herself extensively in the third person (This Bio, Various Press Releases, Her Website). She's also won some awards, not won some awards, been in lots of top-notch comedy festivals, and not been in others. She's just a girl with a dream. Heath Mclvor, appearing with ‘Randy’, stumbled into puppetry at the age of 17. He has been performing with Melbourne based children's theatre company Polyglot Theatre since 2002. Deciding that comedy was worth pursuing, Heath penned and debuted his solo show ‘Randy's Postcards From Purgatory’ for the 2009 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. The show received generous praise and sold out at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Heath is currently collaborating with Sammy J on Sammy J and Randy in 'Bin Night' which will debut at the Adelaide Fringe Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2011. ‘Die Roten Punkte’ will rock the house with their unique take on music. After being orphaned at a young age, siblings Otto and Astrid Rot clawed their way to European fame in true punk rock style - squats in Kreutzberg, homeless in ‘Die Roten Punkte’ became an instant household name in Europe after topping the charts in Germany and Poland with their 2005 hits ’I’m In A Band’ and ‘Best Band In The World’. The band quickly started getting booked around the world for comedy and theatre festivals much to the amusement of the band members who insist they are truly an indie rock pop punk band. Ms Roberts urged patrons to book their tickets well in advance. "With such a stellar cast, this show will be packed. Why not get together with a group of friends to enjoy an evening where city headline acts come to the country? It’s a once a year event and not to be missed," Ms Roberts concluded. The Melbourne International Comedy Roadshow will perform at Kernot Hall on Wednesday 11 May at 8pm. The Latrobe Performing Arts bar will be open for refreshments from 7pm.
