Insurance Information Evening For Toongabbie And CowwarrResidents of Toongabbie and Cowwarr are being invited to an ‘insurance information evening’ taking place at the Mechanics Institute Toongabbie next Monday 2 April at 7pm By Latrobe City - 29th March 2007 - Back to News The insurance information evening, which is being auspiced by Latrobe City’s Recovery Office, will be addressed by speakers from the Insurance Ombudsman’s Office and Gippsland Community Legal Service.
Latrobe City’s general manager city services, Peggy Stevenson, said numerous issues relating to insurance had emerged in the communities as a result of the December bushfires.
"Many residents have expressed concerns over service disputes, assessments, and whether their policies were deemed appropriate to cover their losses," Ms Stevenson said.
"Monday’s meeting will give residents affected by the fires an opportunity to discuss their concerns and seek advice from the professionals in their field. It will also provide other residents, who were not directly affected by the bushfire, to review their own arrangements and policies and seek advice for their future insurance needs," Ms Stevenson added.
Toongabbie and Cowwarr residents attending the insurance information meeting are asked to contact Tracey Finlay, telephone 1300 367 700 or 0448 533 994 by Friday 30 March for catering purposes. A light supper is being provided.
