Footpath renewal continues

Bass Coast Shire Council’s footpath renewal works continue with construction on two upgrades about to take place in Wonthaggi and Cowes.

The concrete path along Hicksborough Road and Fuller Road in Wonthaggi, and a section of around 300 metres between White Road and Vicars Avenue, will be replaced. And around 200 metres of footpath along Walton Street in Cowes, between West Court and Bayliss Court, will also be replaced.

Construction is already underway for these footpath renewal works and is expected to be completed by the end of November, 2017.

The total cost for these works is in the order of $45,000 for the Cowes renewal works and $50,000 for the Wonthaggi renewal works.

These works are important projects in the Roads Upgrade Program under Council’s adopted Road Services Asset Management Plan, which aims to meet community service levels, connectivity and community health.

As a part of these works, new concrete may be placed in landowner’s driveways. Access may be restricted by up to four days to allow for the concrete to completely set. Where this is the case, residents and property owners will be advised in advance.

These works may present short term inconvenience to landowners and residents and Council appreciates everyone’s patience and aims to minimise disruptions.
