By Bass Coast Shire Council - 16th January 2009 - Back to News

Figures from Visitor Information Centres across the Shire, from 25 December 2008 to 1 January 2009, show a huge increase in visitors. Phillip Island numbers are up 30 per cent on the same period last year. Visitors to the mainland were up nearly 70 per cent, with Inverloch recording an increase of 119 per cent on last year’s numbers.

Bass Coast Shire Council’s Special Events Coordinator, Frank Angarane, agreed that this year’s visitor numbers were higher than previous years.
