Latrobe City mayor, Councillor Darrell White, said he was delighted that Professor Garnaut would attend.

"This committee has been formed to lead Council through the transition period that a low carbon economy will inevitably produce. So, we are very much looking forward to welcoming Professor Garnaut to Latrobe City to engage with the committee members.

"Having the opportunity to liaise with Professor Garnaut at the first meeting is a boost both to the Committee’s profile and its vision of providing a one-stop-shop to the state and federal governments," Cr White concluded.
