Rhys Mathieson is one of over 100 success stories of people from all walks of life whose long term cycle of unemployment has been broken via their connection with our Gippsland Regional Agrifood Employment Programme, supported by Jobs Victoria.

International Chef Chris Holen from multinational food social enterprise Chef Outta Water got together with a small group of apprentice chefs last week at TAFE Gippsland's Bairnsdale campus. They designed a grazing lunch feast that showcased the quality and diversity of Gippsland's produce, and some of the producers were amongst the 25 guests at the lunch table to enjoy what the chef group had created in just under four hours!

Iconic Gippsland business Maffra Cheese has joined our SME Export Support Programme!
Project Manager David Grimmond caught up with Maffra Cheese owner Ferial Zekiman on site this week and she's excited to be joining a growing number of other Gippsland businesses ready to grow the export side of their business. Gippsland Connect aims to help improve capabilities, increase exports and support growth, and with a number of different ways available to help Gippsland food and fibre businesses in their export journeys, we encourage Gippsland producers to get in touch with David for a better understanding of how the programme could be a great fit for them.

LET'S TALK MANURE!
Three Monash University researchers, in partnership with Agriculture Victoria, are inviting all Victorian dairy farmers to a workshop on Thursday October 10th about their innovative platform for dealing with dairy effluent, where they will present their research findings of the manure surplus problem on Victorian intensive dairy farms, and discuss next steps for future work and involvement.
