Don’t Get Caught In The Smoke

The Department of Human Services is running information sessions for tobacco retailers during November.

The Department of Human Services is running information sessions for tobacco retailers during November. The sessions will explain the legislative reforms affecting tobacco retailers and what they need to do to comply with new laws. Retailers will have the opportunity to ask questions about how the new laws apply to them.

The nearest information session to Bass Coast is at Dandenong on the 9 November at 9:30am to 11am. For more information about the session, please contact Kerryn Riseley at the Tobacco Policy Unit on 9637 4804.

Bass Coast Shire Council’s Environmental Health Officer, Kim Morrison, said that she will be visiting tobacco retailers in the Shire over the next six months to discuss the reforms and provide advice.

"Council is interested in informing retailers and helping them to comply to the new legislation," said Kim.
